My name is Mike and I am not an addict. A year ago I went to Narconon Louisiana and my life was a mess. I was so worried about feeding my addiction to drugs and alcohol and keeping up the appearance that everything was OK, I had lost the ability to truly live. I had no motivation and I honestly thought I didn’t have a future.
What a difference a year makes! After completing the Narconon program and staying on to be a staff member my life has completely turned around. First and foremost I am truly happy. That in it self is something I haven’t experienced in a long time. I have become a better family member and a more dependable friend. On top of this, I have a rewarding career which allows me to help others overcome addiction.
The most surreal part about my experience is I am not fixated on clean time. In the past, I would get so caught up in making it a day, a week, or a month clean. It’s like I needed it as vindication I was okay. This time however, things were different. The problem was that I was still letting addiction control my life because I was so focused on it and due to that, I could never truly move forward.
This past year there was no need for tallying sober days because I didn’t need to. After completing the Narconon program, I became so confident in myself and my ability to solve problems, I just lived my life. I was able to truly conquer addiction.
If you have to make the choice of where your loved one is going to treatment, I recommend you look into Narconon. It gave me the outlook on life to finally stay clean for good. Something I didn’t get at any of the other treatment centers I went to.
