Prior to now, I hadn’t been one year sober in 13 years.  The last time I was sober for one year was when I was 17 years old.  It’s been so long, I didn’t remember the feeling.  What I can say about that feeling now, is that it is fulfilling.  I have accomplished the task I had been striving to for years.  This feeling of accomplishment is overwhelming.  My parents are proud of me again, which to me is one of the best feelings in the entire world.  Also, I have never laughed as hard and as much as I have in the past year.

 During the last year sober, I have been able to complete tasks I had never been able to complete, even if it is as simple as saving money.  The idea of happiness I once had, has now been redefined.  It wasn’t until I came to Narconon Louisiana that I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.  For an entire year, I have been the happiest I have ever been.  My helping people get off drugs and stay off drugs has been the most satisfying career choice to date.  

 Most everything about my life has improved for the better, even my music and my golf game!  I am very happy with where I am in life.  I am a new person, or as my mother says, I’m the me I was 13 years ago, but much better.
